These pages are for the dogs of the past, those dogs that have contributed to the history of Foxgloves.  Some are old and still with us, others are at the Rainbow Bridge.

NGDC/FC/AFC Benny’s Second Chance- "Chance"

Chance is the oldest at 14 years.  She provided us with an exciting field trial career.  Of course her big win at the AKC Gun Dog Championship in 2002 was very thrilling.  Chance provided us with FC/AFC Jokers Wild, Benny Thomas and AFC Chances Spitting Image. At home with nephew Ben and his family, she is a very special girl.

FC Flash’s Only Annie Knows- "Annie"

Annie now 11 years old, was a very exciting dog to watch.  She defiantly made you sit up and take notice.  She was nationally ranked in All Age but a broken leg shorted her Field trial career. Annie has been a top producer for us.  With her kids FC/AFC Foxglove Key to the Mint and FC/AFC Foxgloves Genuine Risk both finished.  She has 4 others with points and 3 others with puppy points or placements.  Her daughters will carry on the tradition at Foxglove.

Flash Dance- "Flash"

Flash is our foundation dog.  Father of FC Flash’s Only Annie Knows, NGDC/FC/AFC Benny’s Second Chance, FC/AFC Joy IV, and Jessie XII,  You can find each of these girls in the pedigrees of the dogs we have today.  Flash was a very competitive dog on the Northwest field trial circuit.  Flash died in 2002.  Being an all age dog he was never able to get his last retrieving point.  Flash’s mom is all time top producer and GSPCA Hall of Fame dog Quailrun’s Roxy Roller.

FC/AFC Joy IV- "Joy"

Brian was originally into simple names.  He felt if a dog makes a mark people will remember their name.  We will never forget Joy.  She was so well named she was always a joy.  Easy to train, she finished quickly and eventually became NWFTC top GSP in 1997. One year she was nationally ranked in All Age and Gun Dog. Brian would throw her in the All Age to help make a major and on certain courses she could really run, listen and find birds, hence the rankings.  Joy only had one litter but she provided us with Patty – FC/AFC Talk of the Town.

CH Buck Hollows Serenade In Blue- "Sara"

It is hard to put in writing that Sara, died on September 6, 2002, she was just over 14 years old. Although not quite my first shorthair, she was my first show dog. She was the only dog I have owned from 8 weeks until death. Sara got me started in GSP's and brought me many friends and extended dog family. Sara was not quite on the top producers list with only 5 Champions in 4 litters, she did have 3 others with points that for various reasons did not finish.  She has 8 Champion grand get.   Sara was such a funny dog, very alpha, very demanding and lived for food. She was the ultimate couch potato that was oh so spoiled.   I learned a lot from Sara as we went through the years. She was a challenge to show, but I could always count on her single tracking and what a beautiful neck and rear she had.  I picked her out by videotape, for all the wrong reasons.  Thank goodness she had good breeding.

Am Can/CH Foxgloves Impressive In Blue- "Lilly"

It seems like just yesterday that Lilly, a litter of one was born.  She was my first litter and such a delight to show and compete with, a breeders dream come true. If only I could produce another.  Lilly finished with 4 majors and at 1 year old, which has rarely been duplicated here in the Northwest.  I was always very proud of Lilly.  She received her Junior Hunter, did obedience, competed in Master hunter, swam like a fish and was a true friend until the end. Lilly died 2 weeks after being shown at the 2005 specialty Parade of Veterans … so hard to believe.

CH Tabor’s Foxgloves Endeavor- "Trevor"

Trev, I picked him out at just three weeks.  He, as everyone used to say “had a lot of bone.”  He was to be my dual, a feat we did not accomplish, but he did get Field Trial points.  Trevor finished his show championship with two 5-point majors, including a BOB specialty from the classes in 1995.  Trevor will be remember for his personality.  Such a ham, sweet and devoted, a trait he passes on to his kids.  We have been lucky to have many show CH and hunt test titled kids from Trevor.  He went to live with Patty McNary and her family in 2002.  Trevor died in his sleep summer of 2005.  I was fortunate enough to get to have Trevor spend some time at the house just a month before he died.

Foxgloves What Was I Thinking- "Ollie"

Every now and then a young one is taken away from us.  That was the case of Ollie.  In the foot steps of his mother and grandfather a hard luck dog.  First he broke his leg at 8 weeks but it healed okay.  Then he got hemolytic anemia and almost died.  But finally he got out on the road at some training grounds and was hit by a vehicle.  We will miss Ollie very much he was just 3 years old.  He was always so calm and loving.  The potential was there, we will just never know how great he could have been.  His dad was NFC/NGDC/FC/AFC Dunfur’s PFKs Joe Obvious.
